From 2018 I worked full time in the technology field, producing a variety of video content for Samsung’s online training platform, social media, and virtual events. My role as Lead Videographer was to create engaging and innovative content to educate and inspire brand love, from graphics packages for national conferences to lifestyle videos for Samsung’s global learning hub.
Before I began to specialize in video and motion graphics, I worked in the media industry as an in-house multidisciplinary designer for a group of commercial radio stations. I also provided freelance design services to a wide range of SMEs spanning from management consultants to greeting card companies.
My career as a designer is built on a solid foundation of creative education and time invested in self-directed learning. I have recently completed School of Motion’s Cinema 4D Basecamp course and gained an Introduction to 3D Animation credential.
My fine art background has enabled me to confidently initiate critical conversations around creative work. After completing my BA (Hons) in Fine Art, I was selected for a full Visual Arts scholarship at West Dean College, where I received my Postgraduate Diploma. I have been exhibiting and selling mixed media artwork since I began studying.
In 2009 I was delighted to be selected as a resident artist for “Art Territory”, an art therapy project funded by the EU, based in the European Capital of Culture of Vilnius, Lithuania. I spent my time in Lithuania working with young artists from across Europe, producing artwork for display in Vilnius Children’s Hospital. I also made a brief (dubbed) appearance on Lithuanian breakfast television.
Outside of work, I love to experiment with cooking. Rather than following recipes I tend to go with my intuition, which has led to some epic culinary failures in the past. I recommend the book ‘Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat’ by Samin Nosrat and Niki Segnit’s ‘The Flavour Thesaurus’ for fellow trial-and-error chefs! I also love to cook up a storm on the teppanyaki grill, which is as much about theatre (and patience) as it is about food.
I collect vintage magazines, postcards and other papery ephemera which I scan and use to craft digital collages and animated shorts. My love for movies means I hop on to IMDB after everything I watch, so you can rely on my knowledge during the movie trivia section of any pub quiz!
